3 Blues Guitar Riffs

Here’s a fun guitar lesson for you, covering three different blues guitar riffs.

As an added bonus, you’ll learn the simple rhythm groove as well, which is basically just your standard 12 bar arrangement.

These riffs all come out of the B minor scale, so make sure you’re brushed up on your diatonic and pentatonic forms, and you’ll be good to go.

One thing about blues guitar riffs is that you can really apply them in pretty much any situation you find yourself in. The blues is such a versatile form of music; you’ll find heavy metal guys moonlighting in blues bars along with country and pop players. Once you learn a blues guitar riff, work it over and over and over until you’ve truly made it your own. Play it in multiple keys; move it to other scale patterns until you own it.

Ok? Grab your guitar, and let’s dig in.
